If there’s one thing RVers learn quickly, it’s to always be on the watch for DIY hacks that make RVing easier and more fun. If you’re taking your motorhome tailgating this fall, we’ve got some great RV tailgating hacks you should try out.
Toolbox BBQ Kit
Stop searching through your RV’s kitchen drawers, pantry shelves, and storage spaces for all of your grilling supplies. Keep everything in one easy-to-store toolbox!
Make sure you pack these essential items:
- Spatulas
- Tongs
- Meat fork
- Skewers
- Meat thermometer
- Bottle openers
- Can opener
- Toothpicks
- Basting brush
- Spices and seasonings
- Grill brush
- Trash bags
- Paper towels
- Wet wipes
- Hand sanitizer
- Sharpie pen
Hanging Paper Towels
There’s nothing worse than needing a paper towel and not being able to quickly find one. Keep them out of the way but within easy reach by threading a bungee cord through the tube and hooking it onto your RV awning or pop-up shelter.
Condiment Carrier
Make it easy to set out your condiments and put them away—use a six-pack container as a condiment caddy. Show your team spirit by decorating it in your team’s colors!
Tic Tac Spice Containers
RVers are always looking for ways to make better use of space and storage in their RVs. That won’t change when you’re tailgating in an RV. Use Tic Tac containers as mini spice canisters to keep your RV tailgating supplies to a minimum.
Stackable Drawers
Maximize the organization of your tailgating supplies. Prepack everything you need into a set of stackable drawers and label them: Paper Goods, Grilling Supplies, Bug Repellant and Sunscreen, etc.
Laminated Checklist
If you’re serious about making your RV tailgating event the highlight of the week, you’ll have a bunch of gear to pack up and take with you. Make sure you don’t forget a thing by creating a tailgating checklist. Laminate it to protect it from spills and weather, and you’ll be able to reuse it each game (use a grease pencil to mark off those checkboxes)!
The key to a successful RV tailgating party is taking the time beforehand to make it easy to pull off without a hitch. The more you can hack, the easier your tailgate event will be, and the more fun you’ll all have. Of course, it won’t guarantee your team will win—you’ll need your lucky socks for that.
